Aria

Stackable possibilities

The Brief

There are unlimited possibilities when Geometry is involved, the new technology that we created to bent wood let us experiment in a way that can expand the capacities of this material, in this spirit we are pushing the boundaries of what we can create with these techniques.

The Approach

We developed a system that can bend the wood in another dimension passing from plain curves to a tridimensional bending by designing a specialized mold that stretches the wood in different directions, allowing us to create shapes that are stronger by structural design.

The solution

The Aria chair is a statement that force does not come from materiality but from technique. The chair is made out of 2 parts that are bent by pressing molds in an angular shape and then joined together by a unique system that creates a strong bond between the parts, this creates a really lightweight chair that it is also stackable because of its angular design.
